March Classes 2013

March is nearly upon us, time seems to be going faster and faster and before we know it, it'll be Easter. Last month was the second anniversary of our beloved Erina Scrapbook Store closing down (and we still miss it everyday!). March is Scissors,Paper, Ink's birthday month - we are turning 2! Scrapbooking Retreat     Friday 14th - Sunday 16th June 2013 Noonaweena Conference Centre, Kulnura The price includes: * Five star luxury single bed accommodation with a max. of 3 people per room * Hearty home cooked meals * Prizes and challenges * Swimming pool and outdoor heated spa There are limited spaces so please contact us at scissorspaperink@hotmail.com to book into the retreat. $330pp

Class #1.   Sat. 16 & 23 March   9 - 11am This month I have used the soft tones of Kaiser's Pickled Pear range to create a baby layout. We will be using some fun embellishments like a film strip, buttons, eyelets and twine. If you don't think the green hues will suit your theme, bring your own papers along. You will only need three and a half patterned papers, cardstock for matting and around six 12" strips of paper to accent the filmstrip. Teacher: Stacey Class only $15.00 Class + kit $25.00

Class #2.   Sat. 16 & 23 March   11:30 - 1:30pm Something a little different for my extra class this month. We will be creating 2 mixed media background pages. We will be concentrating on getting the backgrounds done in class time so you can add your photo layout to them at home. We will be using gesso, mists, stamps, inks and masks. If you have never tried this, it is great to get out of your comfort zone and have some fun while getting a little messy. Teacher: Stacey Class + kit $25.00

Class #3.  Sat. 16 & 23 March   2 - 4pm This month’s class is all about your travels in Australia. Whether you have taken a big trip or many small trips, this layout aims to help you record your journey. We use the Kaisercraft ‘Check In’ range of papers and embellishments, feature a map of Australia so you can plot your trip, and provide space to journal your details. If you have had travels in other countries, please contact me to discuss other maps. Teacher: Philarney Class only $15.00 Class + kit $35.00

Kids Class   Thursday 21 March   4pm - 5pm This month's class has a school theme. It can be about your first day back, your friends, or an excursion or event - anything school related. This single page layout features a black and white patterned paper which you will match with your choice of a single coloured cardstock. You will need three photos - approx. 4"x4" squared each. Teacher: Philarney Class + kit $15.00

Wild weather

Isn't this weather awful!

I don't know about you but my kids go stir-crazy being cooped up in the house all day. I thought I'd share some of my indoor activites with you incase you need things to keep your little ones busy!!

We did a lot of these things in the Summer holidays but they are equally effective on rainy days.


Corn flour + water + food colouring = Goo

Note: food colouring does stain their hands for a short period!

Mini marshmallows + toothpicks = Anything you want!

Large marshmallows + spaghetti also works

Rocks + Paint + Markers = Pet rocks

Washi tape = Road for cars
 

Hope there is something that inspires your kids. I have to admit I loved the pet rock painting!!

Scrapbooking retreat

We have finally arranged and locked in another scrapbooking weekend away. After all the important feedback we received at the end of our last camp, this is what we have come up with. It is a little more expensive than our previous camps, but for around $40 per night extra we can assure you that the money will be well spent! It is for this reason we are now calling it a scrapbooking 'retreat'.
