October 2013 Classes

Class #1.   Sat. 19 & 26 Oct.   9 - 11am ‘Good clean fun’ class. In this class we are using Kaisercraft’s new Hopscotch collection, which uses a combination of bright, summery colours. We use the complementary sticker sheet and misting to embellish the pages. The layout would suit an outdoor or fun theme. Teacher: Philarney Class only $15.00 Class + kit $33.00

Class #2.   Sat. 19 & 26 Oct. 11:30 - 1:30pm ‘Pizza oven’ class. This layout uses Bo Bunny’s ‘Family Is’ collection, creating a colour combination of turquoise, white and red. The layout has 12 photos, but the space can be used for less but larger photos. The papers are a family theme, but would suit many themes. Teacher: Philarney Class only $15.00 Class + kit $30.00

Class #3.  Sat. 19 & 26 Oct.   2 - 4pm This months layout is girly! It is pink, yelllow and grey and includes mainly portrait photos. I have used 5 double sided patterned paper (two the same for the background) and a sticker sheet. I have left a white border around two of my cropped photos. If you do not wish to do the same, you will need to bring or purchase one sheet of cardstock for matting. Teacher: Stacey Class only $15.00

Kids Class   Thursday 24th Oct.   4pm - 5pm This month we are making a single page layout that has a collage of photos. Each photo is 4" high, but can be any width up to 6" - you can use up to six photos to fill the collage space. We are using bright colours and cloud patterned paper, which would suit an outdoor theme. Teacher: Philarney Class + kit $15.00

Class #1.   Sat. 14 & 21 Sept.   9 - 11am The Summer Fresh range from Simple Stories has so many wonderful elements. There is a bit of fussy cutting required for this layout so make sure you bring pair sharp of scissors and I will bring the baked goods :) If you would like to bring your own papers along, you will need 2 sheets of patterned paper, 1.5 sheets of cardstock, die cut embelishments and a title. Class #2.   Sat. 14 & 21 Sept. 11:30 - 1:30pm With just over 3 months until Christmas it's time to start thinking about making our cards! We are going to create 10, using Kaiser Crafts Holly Bright paper range. We will be using a 6.5" paper pad and there will be enough paper for you to make the rest of your cards for this year. Scrapbooking Retreat release November 2013

Hiya,

We have finally arranged and locked in another scrapbooking weekend away. We had excellent feedback after our last retreat so we are going to Noonaweena again!

August 2013 Classes

Class #1.   Sat. 17 & 24 August   9 - 11am
It was exciting to use Studio Calico's Classic range. They are neutral colours that would suit any theme. I have used a 5.5" x 5.5", two 5.5" x 3.5" photos and two 2.5" x 2.5" photos. If you would like to bring your own papers along, you will need 3 sheets of patterned paper (two the same), 2 sheets of cardstock plus one for matting, a title and some embellishments.

July Class Update

Hi everyone,

Just a quick email to let you know that our classes on Saturday 27th July are fully booked.

We still have some great classes on Saturday 20th July and we have some spaces available. There are two kits left for class #1, no kits available for classes #2 and #3.

If you need some 'me' time after the school holidays or you just want to learn some new techniques, then book in your seat!

Who would have thought that buying and installing a new external hard drive would mess up our website? Well we did and it has!

We are back up and running now and we are refreshed for July classes after a fantastic scrapbooking retreat. Many thanks to the attendees for their wonderful feedback. We will be sure to let everyone know when we have booked another weekend.

This month I have used Kaiser Crafts Blast Off range to create a double page layout which would suit a theme about a loved one. I have used three 4" x 6" photos and one 5" x 7" photo. If you would like to bring your own papers along, you will need 2 sheets of cardstock, 2 sheets of patterned paper - plus 2 co-ordinating scraps, some paper embellishments and bling.

This layout uses quite a range of different techniques. Masking with everyday items, distressing, inking, knife and scissor cutting. The colours lend itself to a distressed rustic theme - perfect for featuring males. You will need two 6" x 4" and four 4" x 4" photos.

June 2013 Classes

June is going to be a busy month for Scissors, Paper, Ink.. lucky we have 5 weekends to fit it all in! We have our retreat plus our usual Saturday classes and kids class. We hope you can make it to a class next month.

Class #1.   Sat. 22 & 29 June   9 - 11am
This month I have used LilyBee Design range to create a double page layout which would suit a range of themes. I have used five 4" x 6" photos, 3 portrait and 2 landscapes to feature my Mother's day photos. If you would like to bring your own papers along instead, you will need 3 sheets of double sided patterned paper and one cardstock.

This is going to be like a marathon class in just 2 hours! You will be creating 5 single page layouts from just one patterned paper, one sticker sheet and some cardstock. This class has been carefully planned to get the most out of the product, therefore it will be a class and kit only.  Book early to get that maximum amount of planning time.

We will be using a wooden embellishment, misting, layering a unique Cricut title and making a pocket for our journaling. Class #2.   Sat. 13 & 27 April   11:30 - 1:30pm Hexagon crazy In this class we revisit the current trend of hexagons to create a nine photo layout. Class #3.  Sat. 13 & 27 April   2 - 4pm Happy Birthday In this class we will be scrapbooking a birthday. Using supplies

Occasionally I have a small amount of time when I finish designing one month's class and before I start on the next month. This month I tried to make use of this time by doing a few layouts for myself (this is quite an unusual thing)! I still used my Line it Up tool, but made didn't make a note of the measurements and I didn't have to worry about how my class would replicate what I have done. I used some new Kaisercraft papers and dug into my own supplies to complete these 2 simple layouts and card.

March Classes 2013

March is nearly upon us, time seems to be going faster and faster and before we know it, it'll be Easter. Last month was the second anniversary of our beloved Erina Scrapbook Store closing down (and we still miss it everyday!). March is Scissors,Paper, Ink's birthday month - we are turning 2! Class #1.   Sat. 16 & 23 March   9 - 11am This month I have used the soft tones of Kaiser's Pickled Pear range to create a baby layout. We will be using some fun embellishments like a film strip, buttons, eyelets and twine. If you don't think the green hues will suit your theme, bring your own papers along. You will only need three and a half patterned papers, cardstock for matting and around six 12" strips of paper to accent the filmstrip. Teacher: Stacey Class only $15.00 Class + kit $25.00

Class #2.   Sat. 16 & 23 March   11:30 - 1:30pm Something a little different for my extra class this month. We will be creating 2 mixed media background pages. We will be concentrating on getting the backgrounds done in class time so you can add your photo layout to them at home. We will be using gesso, mists, stamps, inks and masks. If you have never tried this, it is great to get out of your comfort zone and have some fun while getting a little messy. Teacher: Stacey Class + kit $25.00

Class #3.  Sat. 16 & 23 March   2 - 4pm This month’s class is all about your travels in Australia. Whether you have taken a big trip or many small trips, this layout aims to help you record your journey. We use the Kaisercraft ‘Check In’ range of papers and embellishments, feature a map of Australia so you can plot your trip, and provide space to journal your details. If you have had travels in other countries, please contact me to discuss other maps. Kids Class   Thursday 21 March   4pm - 5pm This month's class has a school theme. It can be about your first day back, your friends, or an excursion or event - anything school related. This single page layout features a black and white patterned paper which you will match with your choice of a single coloured cardstock. You will need three photos - approx. 4"x4" squared each.
